One of the most common things we do with Email Marketing is to send an attachment – typically a PDF of an ebook, a guide, a whitepaper, something like that.
Depending on which version of Keap you’re using, adding an attachment like this to an email in Keap may not be as obvious as you’d think.
This tutorial shows how to attach files to emails inside of Keap. Whether you’re sending a pdf of your ebook, a guide, or some other file, here’s how you “attach” it in Keap Lite, Pro, Max, or Max Classic.
How to attach a file in the Keap Max Classic email builder:
- First, recognize that you can’t actually “attach” a file, but you can link to it
- Next, figure out where in your email you want to provide the link. This could be a text link, a button, or even linking an image.
- When you go to apply a link, choose “File Download” instead of URL.
- You’ll see a button to upload a file.
- Once you upload your file, it’ll be selected.
- Save it and you’re good to go.
How to attach a file using the Legacy email builder in Keap Max Classic
- Go to the main menu
- Click “Templates” under the “Marketing” menu
- Use the drop-down in the upper-right hand corner to “Add a new template” and choose “Email”
- In the legacy builder, you’ll find a link to attach files below the actual builder.
- This is the only way to actually “attach” a file to an email in Keap
How to attach a file to an email in Keap Lite, Keap Pro, or Keap Max
- Currently there isn’t a built-in way to do this, although I’m sure it’s coming soon. But there is a workaround to get it done.
- In the new email builder, click “Uploads”. When you try and upload a file, it will automatically only let you choose images. Change the settings to allow all files. Select your file and upload it.
- Once you upload your file, drag it into your email. Once it’s in your email, you’ll see a “File URL” in the right hand settings area. Copy that URL.
- Now, remove the file from your email – it doesn’t need to be embedded there. That probably won’t work anyways.
- Now, find some words, or a button, or an image that you want to link. Paste the URL of your uploaded file into the link URL and you’re all set.
“Change the settings to allow all files.” how do you do that?
Ignore me I figured it out
Glad you got it!
